Bangarra’s new performance

Bangarra Dance Theatre has launched a stunning new double bill – of earth & sky - featuring evocative new works inspired by stories, old and new, that permit the fusion of dance and visual art.

To mark this new chapter for Bangarra, with the return of the celebrated choreographer Frances Rings and the debut work of dancer Daniel Riley McKinley, we’re giving away double passes to of earth & sky, worth $138 each, and a complimentary program, exclusively to 10 lucky Herald subscribers for the August 17th performance.

Rings’s Artefact explores and honours the spirit and significance of objects in Aboriginal culture and the symbolism of their use in contemporary life. McKinley’s Riley is a celebration of the life of the late Aboriginal photographer and film maker Michael Riley. McKinley, who is connected to Riley through blood and land, pays homage by using his internationally acclaimed photo series cloud as the visual landscape for dance.
